Lee
was recruited into the Prohibition Party in 1995 by Pennsylvania state
chairman George Ormsby. He had a prior interest in temperance history
and had been impressed by the sincerity of people associated with the
Prohibition Party. He spoke on temperance history at the 1995 Party convention
in Denver and attended the 1997 Party conference in Indianapolis. He also
attended the 1999 Party conference in Bird-In-Hand, PA
Lee is a family man. He and his wife, Pam are the parents of seven children,
ages 12 to 28. He is an active Mormon layman, serving as a Sunday School
teacher and as a member of the troop committee for the boy scout troop
sponsored by his church. He also does school programs and poster contests
on temperance.
He was born in 1948, graduated from the Elyria, Ohio public schools, received
a BA from Muskingum College in 1970, and a PhD in Chemistry from the University
of Illinois/Urbana in 1974. He is currently employed as a research scientist.
Lee is a member of the American Chemical Society and an honorary member
of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU).
